History of the firm

The firm's founder is Datuk Koo Chin Nam.

Datuk KCN chambered in Messrs. P.G. Lim & Co.

After getting called to the bar, he was in partnership with various prominent lawyers.

He has been a valuable co-counsel to fellow lawyers, and a leading counsel in his own right.

Criminal work was one of our strong areas.

In the 1990s, Datuk Koo Chin Nam was defence counsel in a number of high-profile criminal cases.

Many of those cases were fought successfully,
leading to acquittals.

Shariah / Islamic law

In the 1990s, Datuk KCN was admitted to practice
shariah law in Selangor.

In 2006, Datuk KCN helped out in the Nyonya Tahir case.

In 2012 the authorities declined to renew
our licence to practice shariah law.

The Journey Is Neverending

Despite all the setbacks, we continue to do our best
for our clients in the work they refer to us.

Today, we handle court matters from the magistrates' court to the highest court in the land.
